Product Manager - Commercial

My client is a Global Company based within the Engineering Industry - with a wide range of products and specialisms.

This is a wonderful opportunity, focusing on the company’s Commercial customer base, with a range of responsibilities including Coordinating product launches, assisting with the design and development of sales tools and ensuring marketing materials are kept up to date.

Areas of Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate product launches (ensuring all marketing materials are in place, conduct training)

• Assist with the design and development of the necessary sales tools (competitor benchmarking, presentations, literature)

• Work with Marketing Manager and Executive to ensure website and local marketing materials are kept up-to-date

Key tasks

• Be local expert on commercial products and applications and liaison with Product Lines

• Plan, implement and manage new product and campaign launches

• Manage competitor intelligence and benchmarking of own products against competitors and develop relevant Value Propositions

• Contribute to price setting and maintenance of relevant price lists

• Monitor sales development and provide input for sales forecasts

• Assist external and internal sales and marketing teams with production of sales tools/marketing materials

• Provide product training to local sales people and internal technicians

• Participate in specification and adaptation of existing products and development of new products

Person requirements:

• Bachelor degree in business/engineering or similar relevant education

• 2-3 years’ product marketing experience from similar industry

• Knowledge of SAP

• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)

Essential skills and experience

• Provide support and interact on many levels with others, ranging from end-users, installers, colleagues and senior management

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• The ability to communicate via marketing materials

• A positive and proactive outlook to all tasks

• Motivated to work to challenging targets and strategic objectives

• Must have a structured and methodical process orientated approach

• Although working within the confines of a small team, coordination and cooperation will be required with the product lines and the sales team in order to successfully manage the tasks as well as co-ordination with other departments within the organization

• Ability to multitask

• Skilled in evaluating working procedures and implementing changes to streamline working habits

• Use own initiative

Important aspects, with impact on the job

• As the job holder is to liaise with global DHS Product Lines approximately 5 travelling days per annum within Europe are expected

• Attend occasional sales meetings at different locations in UK
