We are recruiting on behalf of a growing and well-established organisation seeking an experienced Scheduling Manager to oversee a team responsible for coordinating engineers across the UK. This position sits at the centre of the service operation, ensuring installations, maintenance visits and reactive call-outs are planned efficiently and delivered to a high standard.
This is more than just a planning role. The successful individual will lead from the front, develop team capability, refine systems and drive continuous improvement across the department.
The Role: You will manage the day-to-day performance of a scheduling team, ensuring engineers’ diaries are optimised and service levels are consistently met. Working closely with service, sales and technical teams, you will ensure clear communication and a smooth workflow across departments.
The position requires a balance of operational oversight and hands-on leadership. You will analyse performance metrics, identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of schedulers
• Set objectives and monitor service-related KPIs
• Manage engineer planning for installations, maintenance and reactive works
• Conduct one-to-ones, performance reviews and team meetings
• Coordinate with third-party contractors where required
• Review existing scheduling processes and introduce efficiency improvements
• Ensure consistent communication between internal departments and field engineers
• Produce management reports relating to performance and service levels
About You
• Previous experience in a scheduling, service planning or operational leadership role
• Experience managing or supervising a team
• Background within engineering, field service or technical environments advantageous
• Strong understanding of workforce planning and service delivery standards
• Confident using scheduling platforms and CRM systems (Salesforce knowledge beneficial)
• Analytical approach with the ability to interpret data and act on findings
• Calm, solutions-focused and confident communicator
