Warehouse and AV Equipment Operative

Salary: Up to £31,000 per annum, depending on experience

Our client is looking for a practical and reliable Warehouse and AV Equipment Operative to join a busy technical warehouse operation in the Uxbridge area.
This is not simply a conventional picking and packing role. You will be working with professional audio visual equipment, helping make sure items are received, prepared, checked and ready for use when required.
Previous experience within the professional AV industry would be a real advantage. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have previously worked within an AV equipment warehouse or in a hands-on AV Technician role and understand how professional technical equipment needs to be handled, prepared and looked after.
The role
You will support the day-to-day movement of equipment through the warehouse, including receiving incoming items, preparing outgoing orders, loading and unloading vehicles and keeping stock information accurate.
You will also help clean, prepare and carry out basic checks on AV equipment, identifying damaged or faulty items and making sure anything requiring further attention is dealt with appropriately.
This is a busy, practical environment, so you will need to be comfortable working to deadlines, changing priorities and taking responsibility for the condition and accuracy of the equipment you handle.
What we are looking for
Previous warehouse experience is important, ideally gained within an audio visual, events, production, equipment hire or other technical environment.
Candidates who have worked previously as an AV Technician and would be interested in moving into a warehouse-based technical role could also be particularly well suited.
You should be comfortable with:
- Handling and preparing professional technical equipment
- Receiving, picking and preparing orders accurately
- Loading and unloading equipment
- Carrying out basic equipment checks
- Working safely in a busy warehouse environment
- Using basic computer or warehouse systems
Previous experience operating forklifts or other powered warehouse equipment is also required.
Experience using a warehouse management or stock-control system would be useful.
Above all, we are looking for someone who understands that technical equipment needs to be handled carefully and prepared properly, rather than simply moved from one place to another.
