Warehouse and Equipment Operative

Our client is looking for a practical and dependable Warehouse and Equipment Operative to join an established operational team.
This is a varied hands-on position involving the handling, preparation and movement of specialist equipment. It would suit someone with good warehouse experience who enjoys practical work and takes pride in accuracy, organisation and looking after the items they work with.
The role
You will support the daily flow of equipment through the operation, helping ensure orders are prepared correctly and items are available when required.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Receiving and checking incoming items
- Preparing equipment and orders for onward movement
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Maintaining accurate stock information
- Carrying out basic condition checks
- Ensuring items are stored safely and correctly
- Highlighting damaged, incomplete or unsuitable equipment
- Keeping work areas organised and supporting general warehouse activity
- Following established handling and safety procedures
The role involves regular manual handling and you will be working as part of a busy team where priorities can change throughout the day.
What we are looking for
Previous warehouse experience is essential.
- You should be reliable, organised and comfortable working in an active environment where accuracy is important.
- Previous experience using forklifts or other powered warehouse equipment is required.
- Basic computer skills are also needed, and experience using stock-control, warehouse or order-processing systems would be beneficial.
- Experience gained in an environment involving high-value, specialist or technically complex equipment would be particularly useful.
Candidates from equipment hire, production, technical services, engineering support or other equipment-led operations may have particularly relevant experience, although this is not essential.
A reasonable standard of general education is required.
