An exciting opportunity to work in a technical laboratory environment!
Are you highly organised, confident with numbers and a whizz with Excel? Perhaps you're a bright graduate looking for an opportunity to develop your skills in an interesting and innovative environment?
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Inventory Administrator to join a busy team working within a technical laboratory environment.
You will play an important role in ensuring materials, stock information and inventory records are accurately maintained to support the smooth running of laboratory operations.
This is a varied position combining administration, Excel reporting, stock control and logistics coordination.
Previous laboratory or logistics experience would be an advantage, but certainly isn't essential. We are equally interested in hearing from bright, enthusiastic graduates with strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
What will you be doing?
• Preparing and maintaining accurate Excel spreadsheets, reports and stock data.
• Analysing inventory figures, identifying discrepancies and ensuring records are accurate.
• Monitoring stock levels and coordinating the replenishment of laboratory materials and supplies.
• Updating inventory information on internal systems.
• Assisting with the ordering, receipt and movement of materials.
• Liaising with internal departments and suppliers regarding stock availability and deliveries.
• Supporting the coordination of UK and international shipments.
• Maintaining accurate administrative records and documentation.
• Helping to improve processes and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day laboratory operations.
What are we looking for?
Above all, we are looking for someone who is bright, numerically confident, accurate and exceptionally good with Excel.
You will ideally have:
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate data, work with figures and prepare reports.
• Excellent numerical ability and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• A logical, analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The confidence to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• A proactive attitude and genuine willingness to learn.
• An interest in working within a technical, scientific or laboratory environment would be a real advantage.
Experience in stock control, inventory administration, logistics or supply chain would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Graduates are very welcome to apply, particularly those with strong analytical and numerical skills.
Why apply?
• A fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a technical laboratory environment.
• Work in an interesting, professional and innovative setting.
• A varied role combining administration, data analysis and logistics.
• An excellent opportunity for a graduate or someone looking to develop their career.
• A 12-month temporary assignment starting in January 2027.
• Training and support to learn the role.
