Credit Controller
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Type: Permanent
Location: Uxbridge area
Working Pattern: Office-based, with one day per week working from home following successful completion of probation
Our client is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join their busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong customer relationships while ensuring outstanding payments are collected efficiently and professionally.
The successful Credit Controller will play an important role in maintaining healthy cash flow, resolving account queries and working closely with internal teams to deliver an excellent service to customers.
The Role
Proactively manage customer accounts to ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
Contact customers by telephone and email to collect outstanding invoices.
Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts accurately.
Investigate invoice queries and help resolve payment disputes promptly.
Produce customer statements, payment reminders and copy invoices when required.
Review customer credit limits and payment terms, making recommendations where appropriate.
Assess new account applications and support credit checking processes.
Place accounts on hold where necessary and escalate overdue accounts in line with company procedures.
Prepare aged debt reports and provide updates on outstanding balances.
Work closely with colleagues across finance, customer service and sales to resolve account issues.
Maintain accurate records and ensure customer account information is kept up to date.
Assist with month-end reconciliations and support debt recovery activity where required.
Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures and relevant financial regulations.
The Ideal Credit Controller Will Have
Previous experience in a Credit Controller or Credit Control position.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills.
The ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritise workloads effectively.
Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
A professional and customer-focused approach.
