Account Director (12-Month Fixed Term Contract – Maternity Cover)
Salary: £65,000 + quarterly bonus
Location / Hybrid: North London – hybrid working available

Our client, a fast-paced and growing organisation, is seeking an experienced Account Director to join their business on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a senior leadership opportunity offering the chance to manage a portfolio of high-value, complex accounts while driving commercial growth and leading established account management teams.
The role would suit a commercially focused individual with a strong background in agency, media, marketing, or client services environments who is confident working with international clients and senior stakeholders.

The role:

This is a highly client-facing position where you will take ownership of key accounts, leading client strategy, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and identifying opportunities to maximise long-term value and growth.

Duties include:

Client & Account Leadership

Owning and developing relationships across a portfolio of strategic, high-value accounts
Acting as the senior point of contact for key clients and stakeholders
Leading client strategy discussions and providing consultative guidance
Managing complex international accounts across multiple markets
Ensuring consistently high levels of client satisfaction and retention
Identifying opportunities to expand services and increase account revenue

Commercial Management

Taking responsibility for account performance, revenue growth, and profitability
Developing and implementing account growth strategies
Leading commercial conversations with senior stakeholders
Forecasting revenue and maintaining accurate pipeline reporting
Balancing client objectives with business goals and commercial outcomes

Team Leadership

Leading, coaching, and developing account management teams
Creating a high-performance culture focused on accountability and excellence
Supporting career development, performance management, and engagement
Managing workflow priorities and escalation points

Operational Excellence

Ensuring seamless delivery across client programmes and projects
Maintaining best practice processes and reporting standards
Working closely with internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
Driving continuous improvement across client servicing activities

Experience/skills required:

Proven experience as an Account Director, Senior Account Director, or similar senior client services role
Background within a media, marketing, communications, or consultancy environment
Experience managing large, complex, and high-value client accounts
Exposure to international markets and multi-region account management
Strong commercial understanding of revenue growth and profitability
Previous experience leading and developing teams
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
Ability to influence and engage at senior decision-maker level
Proactive, solutions-focused, and commercially driven approach
Available to start at short notice or immediately
