Customer Service Executive
Salary: Up to £27,000 (depending on experience)
Location / Hybrid: Reading, Berkshire – Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days working from home)
Our client, a global leader in their industry, is seeking a Customer Service Executive to join their friendly and supportive Helpdesk team. This role would suit someone who enjoys helping customers, has strong organisational skills and is looking to develop within a business that actively promotes from within. The hiring manager began their own career in this team, and many team members have progressed into other areas of the business.
The role:
You will be the first point of contact for customer enquiries, ensuring requests are handled efficiently and assigned to the appropriate teams. Working closely with internal departments and external suppliers, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service while supporting the smooth running of the Helpdesk function.
Duties include:
Responding to customer requests and queries promptly and professionally
Managing customer incidents by logging, updating and closing cases
Checking whether equipment or solutions are covered under support contracts and advising customers accordingly
Liaising with suppliers, couriers, engineers, logistics teams and technical support consultants
Producing reports as required
Arranging the return of equipment to repair centres
Experience/skills required:
Previous experience within a customer service-related role, such as retail, reception, hospitality or a similar customer-facing environment
Well organised with a methodical approach to administration
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
