Production Operative / Tube Cutter

Salary: £14.00 per hour
Location: Hayes area
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am–4.00pm and Friday 7.30am–3.00pm
We are recruiting for our client, an established manufacturing business, who is looking for a practical and dependable Production Operative / Tube Cutter to join their busy production team.
This is a varied, hands-on position involving the cutting, preparation and basic machining of metal materials, together with stock handling, quality checks and general production support. It would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in accuracy and is comfortable working with workshop machinery.
The Role:
- Cutting and preparing metal materials to required specifications
- Operating workshop equipment including saws and lathes
- Carrying out basic machining, finishing and de-burring work
- Checking materials for quantity, condition and accuracy
- Recording material usage and keeping stock information up to date
- Assisting with goods-in, stock checks and movement of materials
- Preparing paperwork for outgoing orders
- Supporting other areas of production when required
- Helping to ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
- Carrying out routine cleaning and basic care of workshop equipment
- Reporting stock shortages, damaged materials or production issues
The ideal Production Operative / Tube Cutter will have:
- A practical, hands-on approach and confidence working in a production or workshop environment
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately
- Basic computer confidence and the ability to update internal systems
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities
- A reliable and flexible approach to supporting different areas of the operation
Desirable experience:
- Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing or a similar production environment
- Experience using workshop machinery such as saws, lathes or milling equipment
- Previous stock control, goods-in or materials-handling experience
This is a good opportunity for a Production Operative / Tube Cutter who enjoys varied practical work and would like to join an established manufacturing operation. Previous engineering experience would be useful, although attitude, accuracy and a willingness to learn will also be important.
