Tube Operative at Wellington Tube Supplies
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our organisation which serves a variety of industries with tubes for their specific products and applications. We are specialists in cut pieces of tube, tube assemblies including welded assy’s and our extensive stock range is particularly suitable to the Cryogenic, Electrical, Vacuum, Medical, Research and Instrumentation sectors.
We are currently looking to recruit for the position of Tube Operative, based at our manufacturing facility in Hayes. Experience in raw material/metal stocking industry would be an advantage.
Main Duties:
Processing Works Orders to fulfil customer Purchase Orders (including but not limited to use of band saw, precision hand saw, lathe and other equipment and carrying out hand and machine de-burring, to process tube supply requirements)
Machining tube to length and carrying out other processes as necessary using lathe, milling machines and other equipment.
Noting and booking out material used from stock as necessary
Assisting in the welding department as required (mainly cleaning)
Assisting in the tube bending department as required
Printing delivery notes and labels for the dispatch of customer Purchase Orders and ensure correct paperwork, Certificate of Conformity and Material Certs have been checked and assigned as per Works Orders
Planning work schedule to ensure works orders are processed in accordance with due dates and advising tube office of any foreseen problems.
Using company Stock Control System to check availability of stock and its location
Checking and ensuring tube being supplied from stock is in good condition and in accordance to works order requirements
Assisting with unloading/loading of incoming and outgoing deliveries as necessary
Checking incoming material against Purchase Orders and advising tube office of any discrepancies or damage. Checking lengths of tube and quantity received and advising tube office. Placing received stock in its correct location in tube storage area.
Advising tube office of any low stock
Carrying out stock checks as advised by tube office.
Cleaning and maintaining tube cutting plant equipment as required and requested and advising tube office of any problems
Main Requirements:
Engineering background would be an advantage.
Computer Literate.
Ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 07.30-16.00 and Friday 07.30-15.00
Salary: The role is offering a competitive salary rate dependent on experience. Start Date: Immediately
