Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk – 3 Month Temp Contract

Salary: £36,000–£40,000 (pro rata)
Contract: Temporary – 3 months
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm)
Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys structure, deadlines, and solving invoice puzzles? We’re recruiting on behalf of a long-standing business in the Maidenhead area who need a confident and detail-driven Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk to support their finance team over a busy period.
This is an immediate temporary opportunity offering variety, responsibility, and the chance to play a vital part in ensuring accounts payable runs smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Resolving supplier queries by phone and email with professionalism.
• Reconciling supplier statements and ensuring group-wide records are kept accurate and consistent.
• Assisting with process improvements across the purchase order (PO) platform.
• Supporting wider finance team functions and mentoring junior members where needed.
What We’re Looking For:
• Solid background in purchase ledger or accounts payable.
• Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A self-starter with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Business Central is a bonus, but not essential.
• A team player who communicates clearly and collaborates well with others.
