Senior Buyer – Electronics / Mechanical Components
Location: Langley
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm
Hybrid Working: Available after 3-month probation
Contract Type: Permanent
Are you an experienced Senior Buyer from an engineering, electronics, or mechanical background? Do you thrive on building supplier relationships, improving procurement processes, and driving long-term value?
We’re working with a brilliant SME who are seeking a hands-on Senior Buyer to take ownership of materials procurement across their UK and overseas vendor base. This is a key role in a lean and collaborative team, ideal for someone looking to make a genuine impact. If you're confident managing component stock levels, supplier contracts, and forecasting, this could be your ideal next challenge.

What you’ll be doing:
– Managing procurement of components and materials to meet make-to-order demand
– Owning all purchase orders through to successful delivery
– Monitoring vendor compliance with pricing and lead time agreements
– Maintaining forward visibility with suppliers and sharing forecast data
– Risk assessing upcoming orders to flag potential delays or issues
– Supporting quality control by managing rejected/defective items
– Attending and contributing to weekly logistics meetings
– Working occasional late hours and undertaking local travel as required
What we’re looking for:
– 5+ years' experience in a purchasing or materials control role
– Background in electronics, manufacturing, or similar technical environment
– Strong commercial acumen and confident negotiation skills
– Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (EFACS ideal)
– A calm, proactive and methodical approach
– A genuine interest in long-term process improvement
– UK driving licence required (travel to suppliers in the Southeast area)
