My client a SME organisation is now seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to manage the component stock buying for approved UK and overseas vendors.
This is a great opportunity for someone really wanting to add value- long term career progression is available for the right candidate.
Super organisation, working hours 8.30-5pm, hybrid working available after probation period of 3 months, parking available. Please note that this position will involve some late working on occasion plus the need to travel to the Southeast area at times- car driver please!
Role functions
• To ensure that materials and components availability meet current made to order requests
• Ensure vendor commitment to agreed contract prices
• Full ownership for all PO’s and ensuring prompt transition
• Ensure all 3rd parties have forward forecasts and demand requirements
• Risk assessment of all future orders
• Manage all rejected / defect materials through the manufacturing process
• Contribute to weekly logistics meetings
Experience needed
• 5 years + experience in purchasing or materials control
• Experience from within electronics industry or similar
• Knowledge of EFACS or ERP systems
• Strong negotiation skills
• Numerical and numbers focused
• Calm under pressure
