Driver / Warehouse Technician
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Location: Uxbridge, Middlesex
Our client, a well-established and respected specialist equipment supplier based in Uxbridge, is seeking a reliable and motivated Driver / Warehouse Technician to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a varied, hands-on role that combines driving responsibilities with warehouse operations. Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement, storage and delivery of specialist equipment while delivering outstanding customer service.
As you'll be delivering directly to customers and clients, you'll be a professional ambassador for the business, representing the company with confidence and providing an exceptional customer experience at every opportunity.
The role:
This varied position combines driving, warehouse and customer-facing responsibilities. You'll be responsible for delivering and collecting equipment, maintaining an organised warehouse, preparing customer orders and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of warehouse operations.
Duties include:
* Delivering and collecting goods safely and efficiently using a company-provided Luton electric van
* Acting as a professional ambassador for the business when attending customer sites
* Providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive client relationships
* Planning and managing delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries and collections
* Loading and unloading vehicles in line with health and safety procedures
* Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch
* Receiving, inspecting and processing incoming deliveries
* Maintaining organised warehouse storage areas and stock locations
* Completing delivery documentation and basic stock control records
* Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects
* Supporting general warehouse operations as required
Working hours:
* Full-time, permanent
* 40 hours per week
* Occasional early morning or late evening deliveries may be required to meet customer requirements
* The company offers flexibility and will adjust working hours accordingly to ensure a fair work-life balance following any additional hours worked
Experience/skills required:
* Full UK Driving Licence with a maximum of six penalty points
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Professional and confident when interacting with customers and clients
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Flexible, proactive and dependable approach to work
* Strong work ethic and willingness to support the wider team
Desirable:
* Previous experience driving Luton vans or similar light commercial vehicles
* Warehouse, logistics, distribution or stores experience
* Forklift Counterbalance Licence (training may be provided)
